About Us

Glendale Baptist Church was founded in 1955. Brother Richard Oldham has pastored the church since 1957. God has enabled Bro. Oldham and the Glendale Baptist Church to have a unique ministry to young people. Scores of youth have been called into full-time Christian service under the ministry of the pastor and with the encouragement of the Godly men and women of the Glendale Baptist Church.

The Anchored Christian School started in 1972 with 5 children in the kindergarten. Miss Carole Peacher was the church's elementary director, and she became the first principal and teacher of these students. In the years that followed, the grades were expanded.

ACS offers an accademically challenging curriculum for grades K4-12. Over the years God has blessed the Anchored school with an outstanding, seasoned faculty to instruct our students. From fine arts to athletics, ACS also offers a complement of extracurricular activities.

It was my privilege to come to Anchored in 2008 to take the place of Mrs. Martha Vaught, who had effectively led the school as principal for twenty-five years. As we enter year 2010-2011, like many private schools, we face many challenges: a weak economy, a culture that does not appreciate a Biblical worldview, and a world torn by fear and terror. We want to partner with you, the parent, to give your children hope for a better future laid on a firm foundation.
